Obituary of Peter B. Gnall

Peter B. Gnall, 77, of Blakeslee, died Friday, January 12, 2018 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital in Wilkes-Barre. He was the loving husband of the late Catherine (Rusnak) Gnall, who died in 2004.

Born in Shenandoah , PA, he was a son of the late Peter Gnall, Sr. and Olga (Kasyan) Gnall.

Peter was a 1958 graduate of Immaculate Heart High School in Fountain Springs. A deeply devoted Byzantine Catholic, he was a member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church in Mt. Pocono, where he served as Cantor, and performed the same duty at St. Andrews Byzantine Church in Westbury, NY and St. Mary's Byzantine Church in New York, NY. He was also a member of the Pocono Mountain Seniors.

He is survived by his brothers Theodore, Myron, Jerome, Nestor, Andrew, and Gabriel Gnall; sisters Salome Levkulich and Monica Lapinsky; brother-in-law Michael Knapp; and his dear friend Pina Lally. In addition to his wife Catherine, he was predeceased by his sister Evdokia Knapp.

There will be a viewing from 2-5:30 pm on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco, with a Panachida service conducted by Father Michael Salnicky at 4:30pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Father James Carroll at 10am Friday, January 19, 2018 at St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church, 621 W. Mahanoy St, Mahanoy City, PA. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Mahanoy City, PA.
