Obituary of George L. Phirman

George L. Pfirman, 91, of Cresco, died Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Whitestone Care Center in Stroudsburg. He was the loving husband of Margaret (McNevin) Pfirman, with whom he shared 65 years of marriage.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, he was a son of the late James and Matilda (Rode) Pfirman.

A proud Veteran, George served in the United States Navy. After his retirement in 1989, he moved to the Poconos where he was a member of the Pocono Woodcarver's Club and Most Holy Trinity Parish.

In addition to his wife, Margaret, he is survived by his son, George A. Pfirman and his wife, Maria of Massapequa Park, New York; daughters, Margaret Ross and her husband, Gregory of Farmingdale, New York, and Dianne Winter and her husband, Dave of Long Pond; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. George was preceded in death by his daughter, Eileen Pfirman.

Deacon Frank Barone will conduct a graveside service at 12:30 p.m. Monday, January 22 at St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, New York.
