Obituary of Mary L. Hornby

Mary L. Hornby, 81, of Canadensis, died unexpectedly, Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Lehigh Valley Hospital Pocono in East Stroudsburg. She was the loving wife of John Hornby, with whom she shared 63 years of marriage.

Born in Newark, New Jersey, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Agnes (Coleman) Kupper.

Mary was a resident of the Poconos for over 30 years. She retired from Revlon after twenty five years and after her retirement, she was a bus monitor for the Pocono Mountain School District. Mary was of the Catholic faith and an active member of Most Holy Trinity Parish.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons, John Hornby and his wife, Michele of Metuchen, New Jersey, Donald Hornby and his wife, Bonnie of Jackson, New Jersey; Ronald Hornby and his wife, Sue of Brick, New Jersey; sisters, Carol Hubzinski and Barbara Zelinski; brother, Joseph Kupper; 11 grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her son, Derrick Hornby and daughter, Janice Braun.

There will be a viewing from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, January 24 at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday, January 25 at Villa of Our Lady, 245 Meadowside Road, Mount Pocono. Burial will follow at Laurelwood Cemetery, 901 Bryant Street, Stroudsburg.
