Obituary of John Allan Duffy

John Allan Duffy, 76, of Blakeslee, died on Sunday, January 28, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Christine (Zaledzieski) Donohue.

Born in Darby, he was the son of the late John and Mary (Idell) Duffy.

A proud veteran, John, served with the United States Air Force from 1963 to 1969. He attended LaSalle University, where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and would go on to work on Wall Street for 10 years, after which he retired to the Pocono Mountains and opened John Duffy Accounting Services in Pocono Pines. He worked as at tax accountant in his Pocono Pines office for over 30 years.

John loved the outdoors and could often be found with his rod and reel in hand awaiting his next big catch.

In addition to his wife, Christine, he is survived by his daughter, Trisha Fulkerson of Effort; three cousins, Barbara Kline, Jack Idell, Kathy McGlinn; three grandchildren: Vayda, Alexys and Bryce Fulkerson and several nieces and nephews.

There will be a viewing on Wednesday, January 31 from 3-6pm at the Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco and on Thursday, February 1 at the St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish, 5112 Pocono Crest Rd., Pocono Pines from 10:30-11 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 am at the church.

Private cremation is entrusted to the Bolock Funeral Home Crematory.
