Obituary of Rose Markert

Rose Markert, 93, of Pocono Pines, Pa, died Friday, February 9, 2018 at her home. She was the loving wife of the late Hugo Markert whom passed away in 1979.

Born in Croton, New Jersey, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Josephine (Calcaterra) Tufo.

Rose lived much of her life in Hunterdon County and was a member of Our Lady of Victories Parish in Frenchtown, New Jersey. She moved to the Poconos in 1994 where she became a member of St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish in Pocono Pines, Pa. 

She is survived by her children, Carolyn Tolley of Pocono Pines, Pa, Matthew Markert and his wife, Sally of Flemington, New Jersey, and David Markert and his wife, Debbie of Bethlehem, Pa; grandchildren, Stephanie, Matthew, Eric, Sean, Jennifer and Ryan; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

There will be a viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 13 at Our Lady of Victories Parish, 1005 Route 519 Frenchtown, New Jersey. Reverend Father Krysztof Kaczynski will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow at Locust Grove Cemetery, Quakertown Road, Quakertown, New Jersey.
