Obituary of Lamar R. Thomas

Lamar R. Thomas, Sr., 69, of Tobyhanna, passed away peacefully, on February 9, 2018 surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Judy (Taylor) Thomas with whom he shared 48 years of marriage.

Born in Leland, Mississippi, he was a son of the late Ezra Rowry and Rebecca Thomas.

Lamar was a Grammy Nominated Singer, Songwriter, Educator and humanitarian for his community and a loving husband and father who adored his family.

He is survived by his wife, Judy A. Thomas, and children, Lamar Thomas, Jr., Jamal A. Thomas, Carrie K. Thomas, and Gladys E. Pasols, spouse to Gladys, Carlos R. Pasols, fiancé to Lamar Jr., Cindy Springer, and grandchildren, Caleb J. Pasols, Cayla R. Pasols, Taraji N. Thomas and Madison R. Thomas.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 24 at 1:00 pm with visitation beginning at 12pm at the "Reaching out for Jesus Christian Center", 1890 US 209, Broadheadsville, PA 18322.
