Obituary of Susan L. Irace

Susan L. Irace, 56, of Tobyhanna, died unexpectedly, Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2018 at her home. She was the loving wife of Raymond Irace, with whom she shared 34 years of marriage.

Born in New York City, she was the daughter of the late Salvator​e​ and Rose (Tomassetti) Yaccarino.

A loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, Susan adored her family and the memories she shared with them. She was a kind and generous soul who went out of her way to help anyone who needed it. She formerly worked at Walmart in Mount Pocono for 17 years, where she established lifelong friendships. Susan’s children have fond memories of their childhood, and remember their mom always making a new craft or painting ceramics with them. As her children got older, she enjoyed going out to eat at Red Lobster and pressing her luck at the local casinos. Susan enjoyed sweets, especially cakes and Italian Rainbow cookies. She was loved by so many and will be missed by all.

In addition to her husband, Raymond, she is survived by her children: Christina Voigt and her husband, Matthew, of ​Woodlyn; Gennaro Irace and his wife, Amanda, of Gouldsboro​​; and Amanda Irace of Tobyhanna​​. Also, brothers, Richard Yaccarino and his wife, Mary, Anthony Yaccarino and his wife, Walda, and Robert Yaccarino and his wife, Lena; three grandchildren, Vincenzo ​and Salvatore ​Irace of Gouldsboro​​, and Liam Voigt of ​Woodlyn; her beloved dog, Spikey​; and grandcat, Cindy; and many brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces, and nephews.​

​​There will be a viewing from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 18 at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. A blessing service will be held at 4 p.m. at the funeral home.

Private cremation is entrusted to Bolock Funeral Home Crematory.
