Obituary of Elaine E. Dowd

Elaine E. Dowd, 78, of Pocono Lake, died on, Thursday, February 15, 2018 at The Gardens at Wyoming Valley in Wilkes Barre. She was the loving wife of the late Francis “Buddy” Dowd with whom she shared 58 years of marriage.

Born in Manhattan, NY she was a daughter of the late Onufry and Tessie (Melynk) Kology.

Before her retirement, Elaine worked as a medical assistant. She is of the Catholic Faith.

She is survived by her daughter, Diane Kelly and her husband Brian of Staten Island; brother, Michael Kology of Brooklyn, NY and two grandchildren, James and Jackie. She was preceded in death by her son, Steven Dowd.

There will be a visitation on Saturday, February 24 from 10am to 12pm at the Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. A blessing service will follow at 12pm at the funeral home.

Private cremation is entrusted to the Bolock Funeral Home Crematory.
