Obituary of Frederick P. Ewing

Frederick P. Ewing, 69, of Pocono Lake, died on Sunday, April 1, 2018 at his home. He was the loving husband of Barbara (Zippler) Ewing with whom he shared 47 years.

Born and raised in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Theopholis and Marie (Viet) Ewing.

Before his retirement, Frederick worked at and then owned and operated Ace Welding Services, Inc. in Philadelphia and was a member of the Frankford Masonic Lodge #292. Upon retiring in 2003, he and Barbara made a permanent move to the Pocono Mountains.

He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan, and was elated when the Eagles won the Super Bowl. While living in Philadelphia he coached for the Frankford Boys Club. He enjoyed golf and spending time with his family. Frederick adored his grandkids, Gavin who he loved to root for at his soccer games and Luciana who he loved to watch perform at her dance recitals.

In addition to his wife, Barbara, he is survived by his son, Frederick Ewing and his wife, Janann of Philadelphia, grandchildren, Gavin and Luciana Ewing; five sisters, two sister-in-laws and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.

There will be a viewing on Thursday, April 5 from 11 am to 1 pm at the Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. Services will begin at 1 pm at the funeral home.

Private cremation is entrusted to the Bolock Funeral Home Crematory.
