Obituary of Mary Banzhof

Mary Banzhof, 97, of Swiftwater, died Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Brookmont Health Care Center in Effort. She was the loving wife of the late Kenneth Banzhof, who passed away in 2005.

Born in Rutledge, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Mary (Goell) Wetten.

Mary was a graduate of the former Millersville State Teachers College and earned her Master's Degree in Education from Lehigh University. She taught in the Monroe County Schools from 1st grade, then through seniors in college at East Stroudsburg University. Mary was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church in Mount Pocono for more than 50 years.

She is survived by her daughter, Margaret Banzhof Meade and her husband, James of Ellicott City, Maryland; son, late Dr. Kenneth E. and his wife, Mary Anne Banzhof of Allentown; grandchildren: Dr. Abigail Banzhof Blythe, Dr. Rebecca Banzhof Michels and husband, Damon Michels, Michele Meade Mitchell and husband, Damani Mitchell, Dr. Jennifer Banzhof Donohue and husband, Michael Donohue Esq., and James E. Meade, Jr.; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 21, at Trinity Episcopal Church, 137 Trinity Hill Road, Mount Pocono.

Private cremation was entrusted to Bolock Funeral Home Crematory.
