Obituary of Ernest Kelly

Ernest A. Kelly, 94, of Bartonsville, died on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at his home. He was the loving husband of the late Maxine (Barriger) Kelly and the loving companion of Barbara Boucher. Born in Gagetown, Michigan he was the son of the late Ezraand Bertha (Evans) Kelly. A veteran of the United States Army and Marines, Ernest served with the 2nd Marine Division 2nd Tank Battalion in the Pacific during WWII. He was an expert Pistol and Rifle Marksman for all of his life. He was a Life member of the National Rifle Association. He was a member of the Tobyahnna United Methodist Church. Ernest had worked for 20 years as an auditor for Tobyhanna Army Depot. In addition to his companion of 25 years, Barbara, he is also survived by two sons: Michael Kelly and his wife Shirley of Tobyhanna, Terry Kelly and his wife Lois of Lexington Park, MD; three daughters: Marine Dillon and her husband Rufus (Edd) of Athens, OH, Karen Reider and her husband Art of Tobyhanna, Janice Kresge and her husband Dwayne of Long Pond; and nine grandchildren Heather, Heidi, Michael, Michelle, Christopher, Jessie, Erin, Sarah, and Bethany and five great grandchildren Amanda, Jeffery, Nicholas, Christopher, and Caitlyn. In addition to his wife, Maxine, he was preceded in death by a brother Sherwell Kelly and beloved Sister-in-law Phyllis (Hendricks) Kelly. There will be a viewing on Monday, February 20 from 6-8:00pmat the Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road in Cresco. Reverend Jon Hall will conduct a funeral service at 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will take place on Tuesday, February 21 at 10:00 am at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville PA.
