Obituary of William Michael Mahar

William Michael (Mike)  Mahar, 74,  of Cresco, died on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at his home. He was the loving husband of Judith Dion (Bel-Mehr) Mahar, his high school sweetheart with whom he shared 56 years of marriage.

Born in Pontiac, MI he was the son of the late Alexander Zsolczai and his mother, Florence (Campanaro) Mahar and his stepfather William Mahar.

A loving and faithful husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, "Beaupa"  as he was affectionately known, was loved and inspired by all who knew him. He was a daily communicate of Most Holy Trinity Parish in Cresco, where he was also a 4th degree Knight of Columbus, devoted to Our Lady of Fatima Prayer Cenacle, and a successful retired business executive.  

In addition to his beloved wife, Bel-Mehr, he is survived by his children; Julie Kotch and her husband, Stephen of Asbury, NJ, Jeanne Murphy and her husband, Jan of Ringoes, NJ, Kevin Mahar and his wife, Amy of Doylestown, Stephen Mahar and his wife, Victoria of Hanover, MD, JoAnne Diaz and her husband, Nicholas of Easton; brothers; Bob Zsolczai and his wife Marveda of Branson, MO, Ernest James (Tino) Mahar and his wife Bonnie of Stroudsburg; twenty four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, JeriAnne Hardiman and two grandchildren, Ava Stephanie Mahar and Theresa Marie Kotch.
There will be a viewing on Thursday, April 19th from 9:30 - 11:30 am at the Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. The Reverend Father Gregory Loughney will celebrate a Mass of Christian burial at noon at the Villa of Our Lady Retreat House in Mount Pocono, PA. Burial will follow at the Canadensis UMC Cemetery, on Route 447 in Canadensis.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Villa of Our Lady, 245 Meadowside Road, Mt. Pocono, PA 18344.
