Obituary of Helen Mills

Helen Mills, 64, of Pocono Lake, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 5, 2018, at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital surrounded by loved ones after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the loving wife of Barry Mills.

Born in Philadelphia, and a graduate of Olney High School, she moved and settled in the Poconos in 1975. She worked at Citizens Savings Bank in Mount Pocono for 13 years, serving many long time customers. For the past 18 years, Helen worked at the Monroe County Housing Authority, most recently as the coordinator for the Section 8 program. She was dedicated to her job, working up until two weeks before she passed. Well-loved by her staff and co-workers, Helen will be greatly missed. A charter member of Faith Lutheran Church in Blakeslee, she had served on the church council and alter guild.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her parents, Karl and Hildegard (Botcher) Fink of Souderton; her daughters, Christine Capone and her husband Troy of Albrightsville, Jennifer Maguire and her husband Christopher of Quakertown, and Julie Evans and her husband Jamie of Blakeslee; stepdaughters, Cheryl Hagan and her husband Bill of Pocono Lake, and Dawn Arezzi of Jacksonville, Florida; brothers, Klaus Fink and his wife Kate of Souderton, and Bill Fink of Souderton; and 11 grandchildren she adored and spoiled. 

There will be a celebration of her life on what would have been her 65th birthday this Saturday, June 9th, from 10:30 a.m. to noon at Faith Lutheran Church, Route 940, Blakeslee. The Reverend Debra North will conduct a memorial service at noon at the church.
