Obituary of Thomas J. Michel

Thomas Michel, 55, of Cresco, died on Thursday, June 21, 2018 while vacationing in North Carolina. He was the loving husband of Cristobalina (Diaz) Michel, with whom he shared 19 years.

Born in Manhattan, New York, he was the son of the late Raymond and Martha (Cominsky) Michel.

Thomas was an electrical technician for Local 3 in Manhattan for many years. He enjoyed spending time with his family with whom he was very close, and loved the outdoors. He was an amazing hunter and left us doing what he loved. Tom was a survivor of the 9/11 tragedy, suffering a loss of close friends, and incurring many medical issues due to the incident.

In addition to his wife, Cristobalina, he is survived by their three daughters: Brianna, Christa, and Debbie Michel; his brothers, Robert Michel and Edward Rhodes; and sister, Michelle Mills.

There will be a visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, June 29 at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. The Reverend Father Gregory Loughney will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, June 30 at 10 a.m. at the Church of St. Ann, Main Street, Tobyhanna. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in South Sterling.
