Obituary of Angelo Diaz

Angelo "Mike" Diaz, 80, of Cresco, passed peacefully at his home on Friday, July 13, surrounded by his loving family. He was the loving husband of Carmen (Garcia) for 57 years.

Born in Manhattan, New York, on November 7, 1937, he was the son of the late Angel and Carmen (Cortez) Diaz.  

A proud veteran, Mike served as an Airman Second Class/Staff Sergeant for the United States Air Force.  He worked for over 50 years at Kent of London as a sales representative.  He was a lifetime member of the Lions Club and District 20 where he served as Dutchess County Governor. Mike was also a life member of Whortlekill Rod and Gun Club in Hopewell Junction, New York.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman. 

In addition to his wife, Mike is survived by his brother, Antonio Diaz and his wife, Gloria of Front Royal, Virginia; son, Michael Diaz and wife, Barbara of Hopewell, New York; daughters:  Michelle Hylton and husband, William of Lafayette,Colorado; Carmen Loreen Venello of Port Ewen, New York and beloved grandfather of Marissa and Marcus Hylton, Deanna Venello, Matthew and Christopher Diaz.  He was preceded in death by his brother, Edward Diaz.

Angelo's family will hold a Celebration of Life Service from 1 to 4 p.m. on Thursday, July 19 at Mountainhome United Methodist Church, 6680 Route 191, Mountainhome.
