Obituary of Antoinetta Africano
Antoinetta "Toni" Africano, 95 years of age, was a 73 year resident of Glen Rock, New Jersey and most recently of Buck Hill Falls, died Friday, July 20, 2018. She was the loving wife of the late John P. Africano.
Toni served during World War II in the Navy and was stationed in Washington, D. C. while working in the JAG Division. She graduated with honors from Montclair University, with a degree in English Literature.
She was on the Board of the Ridgewood YMCA and taught bridge for many years in the Glen Rock Adult School. She was a volunteer for local literacy programs and was a member of the League of Women Voters. Toni was a member of the High Mountain Golf Club and was a parishioner of St. Catharine’s Roman Catholic Church in Glen Rock.
Her true love was bridge and she played in many sanctioned clubs in New Jersey, as well as when a visitor in Buck Hill Falls.
She is survived by her children: Jon Africano of Wayne, New Jersey; and Laura Ronayne of Buck Hill Falls; two grandsons: Patrick Ronayne and Patrick Benson and one great granddaughter.
There will be a visitation from 2 to 5 p.m. Thursday, July 26 and from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 27 at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. A service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Interment will be private in Mountainhome.
