Obituary of Grace V. Verrico

Grace V. Verrico, 85, of Pocono Summit, died Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at Grandell Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Long Beach, New York. She was the loving wife of the late Frank J. Verrico.

Born in New York, New York, she was a daughter of the late Sebastiano and Josephine (Squataritto) Giarrusso.

She left Brooklyn in 1984 to live in the Poconos where she worked at Nationwide Insurance until she retired and enjoyed volunteering at Pocono General and seeing her friends. She loved her canaries, gardening, painting and knitting. "Grandma Grace" loved visits from her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, Frank Verrico and his wife, Nancy of Manalapan, New Jersey; daughters: Elizabeth Cifu and her husband, John of Warwick, New York; Mary Ann Amabile and her husband, Robert of Lynbrook, New York; grandchildren, Frank John Verrico and his wife, Fiorela, Joanmarie Verrico, JoAnne and her husband, James, John Cifu and his wife, Christine, Michael Cifu and his wife, Michelle, Victoria Cifu and her husband, Greg,  Robert Amabile, Theresa Amabile, Christopher Amabile and Joseph Amabile; great-grandchildren; Andrew, Emilia, Olivia, Sophia, Maibry, Victor, Ellen, Gianna, and Brandon. Grace was preceded in death by her sister, Emanuella Marcucci and brother, Joseph Giarrusso.

There will be a viewing from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, July 29 at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 30 at St. Ann's Church, Main Street, Tobyhanna. Burial will follow at St. Catherine's Cemetery, Moscow.
