Obituary of Maureen Mendoza

Maureen Mendoza, 76, died Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Manor Care in Kingston. She was the loving wife of the late Jose V. Mendoza.

Born in Bronx, New York, she was the daughter of the late Francis J. Taheny of County Sligo, Ireland and Della B. (Quinn) Taheny of County Mayo, Ireland.

She was a Registered Nurse for much of her life and practiced in New York City for over 30 years.  Maureen loved going to Irish Festivals and listening to Irish music and was very proud of her Irish Heritage.  She was a devout Catholic that loved her family very much.  Her family was the most important thing to her in life.  

She is survived by her eight children: Cookie Reda Wall (Kenny), Joseph F. Reda (Dolores DiRe), Della A. Reda, Joani Reda-Hernandez (Ruben), Joy Castro (Jimmy), Joshua G. Mendoza (Karen Bradley), Sarai E. Neff (Jason), and Deborah J. Mendoza; and 16 grandchildren, Jennifer, Justin, Cody, Ryan, Amanda, Diandra, Jacqueline, Victoria, Peri, Dean, Reece, Nina, Franco, Isabella, Jacob, Symphony and one great-grandchild, Ariya.

There will be a viewing from 8 to 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 23 at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. at St. Ann's Church, Main Street, Tobyhanna. Burial will follow at Pocono Lake Cemetery, Old Rte 940, Pocono Pines.
