Obituary of Edward J O' Shaughnessy

Edward J. O’ Shaughnessy, 86, of Tobyhanna, died Sunday, September 2, 2018 at Gluco Lodge Personal Care Home in Stroudsburg.

Born in Brooklyn, he was the son of the late Edward and Romayne (Henn) O’ Shaughnessy. He was the loving husband of Jean (Brown) O’ Shaughnessy with whom he shared 53 years of marriage.

For many years, Edward worked for General Motors/AC Delco as a receiving clerk before retiring to the Poconos. He was very active in his church, St. Mary of the Mount, Mount Pocono. Edward was a proud veteran of the United States Army during the Korean War and a member of the VFW Post 3448. He was an avid bowler, winning many trophies and awards. Edward was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the New York Mets.

In addition to his wife, Edward is survived by nieces: Joann Fogerty and her husband, Matthew; Kelly Brown-Sanchez and her husband, Benjamin Sanchez; nephew and godson: James Brown Jr., and his wife, Jennifer; in-laws: James Brown, Sr. and his wife, Elizabeth; many grand nieces and grand nephews.

The Reverend Father Gregory Loughney will celebrate a mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 5, at the Villa of Our Lady, 245 Meadowside Road, Mt. Pocono, PA.  There will be a viewing from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Villa of Our Lady. Interment will follow at St Mary’s Cemetery, 1594 S Main St, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18706.
