Obituary of Sally A. McGrath

Sally A. McGrath, 77, of Pocono Summit, died Monday, September 3, 2018 in Bethlehem. She was the loving wife of Walter McGrath.

 

Born in Boston, Massachusetts, she was a daughter of the late Howard and Amelia (Lee) Cushing. 

 

A proud military wife, Sally traveled the country with her husband until moving to Pocono Summit in December of 1980.  She was a devoted homemaker and volunteered with many organizations.  She was of the Catholic faith and attended  Most Holy Trinity Parish. Sally organized the thrift shop at the Tobyhanna Army Depot and was instrumental in organizing a foster care agency in Tobyhanna.

 

In addition to her husband, Sally is survived by sons: Charles Hobart and his wife, Becky of Blandon; Patrick McGrath and his wife, Aris of Alexandria, Virginia; Michael McGrath and his wife, Jennifer of New Freedom; William McGrath of Stroudsburg; daughters: Linda Kerr and her husband, John of Tobyhanna; Lisa Hobart and her companion, Steve of Pocono Lake; 15 grandchildren; and one niece and nephew.

 

There will be a viewing from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday, September 6 at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. The Reverend Father Michael Kloton will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Friday, September 7 at St. Ann’s Church, Main Street, Tobyhanna. Interment will take place at 2 p.m. Monday, September 10 at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Indiantown Gap Road, Annville.
