Obituary of Marie Serfas

Marie Serfas, 71, of Swiftwater, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, Monday, September 10, 2018 at home. She was the loving wife of Conrad M. Serfas, with whom she shared 50 years of marriage.

Born in East Stroudsburg, Marie was the daughter of the late Robert and Louisa Elwine.

Marie was brought up in the foster care system; she became a foster parent herself, helping several children through a few difficult years. Though she worked at local companies such as Ronson and Connaught, she was at heart a lover of beautiful things and places, and of her prized pet ducks.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Michael Sean Serfas.

A private person, Marie did not wish to hold a public service, but will be commemorated at a place she loved and long remembered.

Marie and her family want to acknowledge the outstanding care she received from: The Garden, Kindred at Home, Dale and Frances Hughes Cancer Center, as well as Lehigh Valley Pocono Hospital and Hospice.
