Obituary of Charles R. Francis

Charles R. "Charlie" Francis, 67, of Reeders and Melbourne, Florida, passed away at home Monday, September 10, 2018. He was the loving husband of Diane (Slahor) Francis, with whom he shared 35 years of marriage.

Born in Lansdale, he was a son of Joan (Schulze) Francis of Lansdale and the late Charles Smith and the late John Francis.

He was the owner of Charles R. Francis, Inc. for 35 years and was very proud of the numerous awards presented to him for the energy efficient houses he built in the Poconos. Charlie was a past member of the Pocono Builders Association. He loved to play golf and travel with family and friends. Charlie was a member of the Monday Men's League at Pocono Manor for many, many years.

Charlie was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer in December 2016. He endured countless rounds of chemo and radiation, but always kept his sense of humor. He was a true inspiration to all.

In addition to his mother, and devoted wife, Diane, he is survived by daughter, Lori Hageman and her husband, Daniel of Green Lane; son, Bill Smith and his wife, Gina of Easton; daughter, Kim Crane and her husband, James of Peach Tree City, Georgia; daughter, Kelly Bach and her husband, Craig of Quakertown. Charlie was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by his siblings, Pat Lennard and her husband, Frank of Perkasie; Rob Francis and his wife, Debbie of Lansdale; John Francis of Lansdale; and Dorothy Francis of Norristown. He was a wonderful grandfather to Josh, Rileigh, Nate, Caleb, Jude, Micah, Alexandra, Tanner, Kerrigan, Garran, C.J., Tyler, Grace, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles. His many friends will miss him so much.

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 22 at Pocono Manor. Please come casual -golf attire is OK!

Private cremation has been entrusted to Bolock Funeral Home Crematory.
