Obituary of Susan Wright Kennedy

Susan Wright Kennedy, 78, of Buck Hill Falls, died Tuesday, September 11, 2018 after an extended illness. She was the beloved wife of Henry M. Kennedy Jr.

Born and raised in Knoxville, Tennessee, Susan graduated from National Cathedral in Washington, DC; received her BA from University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill; and received her MA from Fordham University in New York City. She particularly enjoyed her career of teaching remedial English to inner city children in Patterson, New Jersey.

Before retiring to Buck Hill Falls, and Naples, Florida, she lived in New York and in Ridgewood, New Jersey.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents, James B. and Janet K. Wright. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons: James Kennedy and his wife, Pavinee, and Stephen Kennedy and his fiancée, Amanda Rivers; two sisters: Jane Carter and her husband, Ed, and Edith Harvey and her husband, William; as well as many nieces and nephews.

There will be a memorial service at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Trinity Episcopal Church, Mount Pocono, where she served on the Vestry.
