Obituary of John E. Fallenstein

John E. “Jack” Fallenstein, Jr, 90, from Martins Creek and formerly of Cresco, died peacefully on Saturday, September 22, 2018, at home with his family by his side.  He was the loving husband of the late Dolores (Conner) Fallenstein.

 

Born in Germantown, he was the son of the late John and Lillian (Steiner) Fallenstein, Sr. He was predeceased in death by his brother, William Fallenstein.  

 

A proud veteran, he served in the United States Navy on the USS Tarawa. He was the former owner of a hotel in Newfoundland, Johnsville Beverage, Leggieri’s Bar/Restaurant and had his own construction /plumbing company. He enjoyed hunting, golfing and woodworking projects. Jack was an avid Philadelphia Eagles and Philadelphia Phillies fan. He was a Mason and a true patriot. He always enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a loyal family man who dearly loved his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was quick-witted and always had time for a joke. Dad, Pop-Pop, Great Pop-Pop, Uncle Jack and Jack will be greatly missed. 

 

John is survived by his sons: Jack Fallenstein and his wife Diana of Trumansburg, NY; Jim Fallenstein and his wife Carol of Tannersville; his daughters Diane McAllister and her companion Don Abodeely of Swiftwater; Deb Savelli and her husband Anthony of Martins Creek; 11 grandchildren, Joshua, Justin, Julia, Melissa, Leslie, Sarah, John, Emily, Lindsey, Aaron and Zach; 21 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Florence Fallenstein of Stroudsburg, as well as, nieces, nephews and many close friends. 

 

There will be a viewing from ­­­10 am to 12 pm Thursday, September 27 at Bolock Funeral Home,6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco.  The Reverend Cindy White will conduct a funeral service at 12 pm.  Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Mountainhome.
