Obituary of Thomas Mettler

Thomas G. Mettler, 84, of Tobyhanna, died on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at Community Medical Center in Scranton. Born in Washington DC, he was the son of the late Wallace P. Mettler and Helen (Schaffer ) Mettler. A veteran of the United States Navy, he had served during the Korean War. Thomas worked as an engineer for the Tobyhanna Army Depot until he his retirement and was a lifelong member of the VFW PA Post 5209. He enjoyed to read and roller skate and was loved by all. He is survived by a sister: Frances Zettle of North Myrtle Beach, SC; four nieces: Deborah Fraker of Atlanta, GA, Sherrie Zettle of Raleigh, NC; Leann Hook of Dunmore; Cathie Scoynes and her husband Jeff of Lawrenceville, GA; and several grand nieces and nephews. Private cremation was entrusted to the Bolock Funeral Home Crematory.
