Obituary of Charles F. Costanzo

Charles Francis Costanzo, 85, of Mt. Pocono, passed away Friday, Nov. 16, 2018, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pocono. He was the loving husband of Harriet (Eggert) Costanzo with whom he shared 68 years of marriage.

Born in Pocono Lake, he was a son of Rosario and Dorothy (Drum) Costanzo.

Charles made his home with Harriet and together they raised their family in Cresco. They lived there for over 50 years before moving to Mt. Pocono 12 years ago. Charles retired as a volunteer firefighter after 50 years of service with the Barrett Township Fire Company. He was a Barrett Township part time police officer, as well as a Barrett Township ambulance volunteer. Charles was a member of the American Legion in Canadensis. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and wood crafts.

In addition to his wife, Charles is survived by his daughter, Linda Schmidt, and her husband, Heinz, of Mt. Pocono; his sons: Paul A. Costanzo and his wife, Laura, of Long Pond; Charles H. Costanzo and his wife, Jan, of Coolbaugh; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren, with one more along the way; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Charles is preceded in death by his sisters: Mable Hays and Elida Murphy; brothers: Vince Costanzo and Harry Costanzo; his son, David C. Costanzo, and his grandson, Jason C. Costanzo. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Private cremation has been entrusted to Bolock Funeral Home Crematory.
