Obituary of Dorothy L. Slye

Dorothy L. Slye, 84, of Tobyhanna, died Sunday, November 18, 2018 at home. She was the loving wife of the late Virgil Slye.

Born in Boston, Massachusetts, she was a daughter of the late William and Pearl (Cassel) Kendall.

Dorothy was the bookkeeper for her husband's floral business, and they spent time in each other's company at bowling and billiard tournaments, as well as playing horseshoes and having pool parties with their children. She lived for a time with her Auntie Anna and her cousins in Cape Cod, MA.  After Virgil's death, she passed the time reading, babysitting, and enjoying nights out to dinner with her daughter. 

She is survived by her son, Keith M. Slye and his partner, Lisa Nolan of Levittown; daughter Cindy Sullivan and her husband, Sean of Tobyhanna; grandsons: Keith and William Slye. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers: Richard and Charles Kendall and her sister, Evelyn Hinckley.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 24 at 11:00am at the Stroudsburg Wesleyan Church at 915 N. Fifth Street, Stroudsburg, PA.
