Obituary of Leona Gower

Leona “Lynn” Gower, 68, of Tobyhanna, died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2018, at Whitestone Healthcare Center in Stroudsburg. She was the loving wife of William C. Gower Sr. with whom she shared 49 years of marriage.

Born in East Stroudsburg, she was a daughter of the late Clair and Edna (Whitmore) Metzger.

Lynn was a bartender for most of her life and worked at Kublers Mountain Motel as well as Bob’s Hideaway.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Judi Croy and her husband, Kevin Davis, of Gouldsboro; son, William Gower Jr. and his wife, Connie, of Pittsburgh; brother, Michael Metzger of Texas; her grandchildren: Charlie Cooper, Domonique Soto, Allison Gower, and Andrew Gower; great-grandson, Jaysen Soto; and many nieces and nephews. Leona was preceded in death by her sisters, Carol, Irene, and Chris.

There will be a viewing from 3 to 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7 at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. Pastor Kenneth Cathcart will conduct a service at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Make A Wish Foundation Professional Arts Building, 327 N. Washington Ave., #501, Scranton, PA 18505.

Private cremation is entrusted to Bolock Funeral Home Crematory.
