Obituary of Adam Green
Adam Green, 87, of Pocono Pines, passed away on Monday, May 28, at the Hospice Community Care at Geisinger Hospital in Wilkes Barre. He was the loving husband of Helen (Wos) Green.
Born in Baltimore on September 21, 1924, he was the son of the late Joseph and Pauline (Fakowska) Green.
Adam graduated from Baltimore Polytechnic Institute. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII as an aviation radio gunner in both the Atlantic and Pacific theatres. He was awarded three Air Medals for his naval duties. After the war, he worked for awhile in the movie industry. He then worked his way from aircraft inspector to quality engineering management. Most of his work was on combat aircraft and space programs, such as the Mercury and Apollo programs.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons: Robert Green and his wife Barbara of Towson, Md.; James Green of New York City; Jeffrey Green and his wife Brooke of Catonsville, Md.; five grandchildren: Jamie, Sabre, Harrison, Carson and Jackie; two sisters; Ida Budacz and Sonia Dudek; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; a sister Helen Bronsky; two brothers; Joseph and Chuck Green.
The Reverend Father Joseph Kopacz will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, June 1, at 10:00am at St. Mary of the Mount Church, 27 Fairview Avenue, Mount Pocono. There will be a viewing on Thursday May 31 from 2-4pm and 7-8:30 at the Bolock Funeral Home & Crematory Inc, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco, PA. Burial will follow at Pocono Lake Cemetery.
