Obituary of Peter Cook

Peter Cook of Newfoundland, Pa passed away Sunday, December 19, after a courageous 15 1/2 year long battle with brain cancer. Formerly of Beaver Lake, NJ he has lived in PA for 24 years. He worked for Hoffman La-Roche in Belvidere, NJ for 13 years prior to becoming disabled in 2001. Peter served on the Barrett Volunteer Fire Company for approximately six years before moving to Newfoundland. He also served as an EMT for Hoffman La-Roche. Although Pete enjoyed serving as a volunteer, his greatest joy was showing his horses. He showed at open and AQHA shows for many years while continuing his chemotherapy. He was an inspiration to many people and was a man of incredible will. To many friends and family he will be an inspiration of hope to never give up. He is preceded in death by his father William Harold and his mother Estelle Gurka Cook. He is survived by his wife of 28 years Roberta, three brothers; Jack Smith and his wife Sondra of Fort White, FL, Dave Smith of Mechanicsville, VA, and Bill Cook and his wife Sharon of Glen Allen, VA, his daughter; Melissa Sevilla and her husband Ed of Hurricane, WV, two sons; William (Bill) Cook of Fayetteville, NC and Mike Husted and wife Jamie of Moscow, PA, six grandchildren whom he adored; Darion, Gabby, Matthew, Abigail, Cheyenne and Savannah. Also his Aunt Josephine of Sussex, NJ and much loved nieces and nephews. Cremation took place at the Bolock Funeral Home and Crematory Inc, Cresco Pa. Services will be held for his family at his home in Newfoundland.
