Obituary of John Leondis

John Angelo Leondis, 51, of Tobyhanna, died Wednesday, January 26 at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York. He was the husband of Loretta (MacDougall) Leondis. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the Fontini Leondis of Greece and the late Thomas Leondis. In addition to his wife Loretta, John is survived by his two daughters: Eileen and Kathleen Leondis, both of Tobyhanna; two brothers-in-law: John and Donald MacDougall, both of Queens, NY; and his parents-in-law: Robert and Joan MacDougall of Queens, NY. He was preceded in death by his father: Thomas and his sister: Matilda Leondis. There will be viewings on Monday, January 31 from 7:00 to 8:30 pm and Tuesday, February 1 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Rd, Rt. 940 in Cresco. A funeral service will be held at 7:00 pm on February 1 at the funeral home. Private Cremation will follow at the Bolock Funeral Home Crematory.
