Obituary of Marilynn Dresser

Marilynn Dresser (July 28,1927 - August 22, 2012) Marilynn Dresser, 85, of Cresco; passed away August 22, 2012, surrounded by her lifelong pinochle buddies. Born in Detroit, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Margaret (Shirk) Macoit,Sr. Marilynn graduated from Redford High School,and attended Olivet College. There she met her future husband Keith E. Dresser, and was married for 43 years until his death in 1992. She is survived by her three children: Christopher K. Dresser of Tannersville, Mark M. Dresser of Shawnee, and Cathy J. Shiner of Pine Grove; a brother: Donald Macoit, Jr. of Alabama. Marilynn truly enjoyed life. She was an avid traveler, golfer, card player and gardener. She had been a volunteer for The Red Cross, Meals on Wheels and the Barrett Friendly Library. Marilynn touched many lives with her positive outlook, cheery disposition and ready smile. She will be sadly missed by many. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, September 14 at 2:00 pm, at the Canadensis United Methodist Church. Pastor George Alt will officiate the memorial service. A reception will be held afterwards in the church where friends are invited to celebrate Marilynn's life.
