Obituary of Joan Mary Conroy

Joan Mary Conroy February 29, 1928 - October 10, 2012 Joan Mary Conroy, 84, of Mountainhome entered her life in the next world on Wednesday, October 10 at home. She is survived by her beloved children: William of Lindenhurst, New York; Julia of Canadensis; Kevin and his wife, Traci of Canadensis; Joseph of Gouldsboro and Patrick of Mountainhome. Surviving also are her beloved grandchildren: William and Daniel of Clearwater, Florida; Paul and his wife Michele of London, England; Alexandra of Canadensis; Kevin, Nicole and Philip of Canadensis; Melissa of Hannibal, Missouri; Joanna and Andrew of Cresco; Julia of Pittsburg and Patrick, Jr. of New York City. Her precious great-grandchildren are Christianna, Caroline and Michael. Born in Coral Gables, Florida and raised in Woodside, Queens, Joan Mary married William Conroy on May 7, 1949; they lived on Long Island, New York prior to relocating to the Poconos in June, 1972. She was an organist at several local Catholic churches, volunteered at the Nearly New Shop and for Meals on Wheels; was President of the Barrett Community Club, taught CCD, and was baby-sitter extraordinaire. She devoted her life to her faith, family and friends. All who met her felt they had come home and she will be sorely missed. "You Are My Sunshine". There will be a viewing on Sunday, October 14, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Bolock Funeral Home, corner of Routes 940 & 390 in Paradise Valley. The Reverend Father Gregory Loughney will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 15 at Saint Bernadette's R.C. Church in Canadensis. Burial will follow at St. Catherine's Cemetery in Moscow.
