Obituary of Chester Verrico

Chester A. Verrico, 93, of Pocono Summit, died Monday, February 7 at Golden Living Center Stroud in East Stroudsburg. He was the husband of Eleanora (Parrella) Verrico. Born in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of the late Vincenzo and Marianna (D'Azzaro) Verrico. Before his retirement, Chester was employed as a machinist for over 25 years at R. Hoe & Co. in Bronx, New York. He then worked at Blue Hill Golf Course in Orangeburg, New York as a groundskeeper for ten years before moving to the Poconos. He attended St. Joan of Arc Church in Pocono Summit and St. Mary of the Mount in Mt. Pocono. A United States Navy Veteran, he served during world War II. In addition to his wife, Eleanora, he is survived by a son, Vincent Verrico of Pocono Summit; a daughter, Elaine Burlesco of West Nyack, New York; a brother, Ernest Verrico of Pompton Plains, New Jersey; three grandchildren; one great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by eight sisters and one brother. Funeral services and burial with military honors were arranged by the Bolock Funeral Home, Route 940, Cresco, Pa.
