Obituary of Patrick Melanson

Patrick Joseph Melanson, 82, of Scotrun, died on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at his home. He was the husband of Elizabeth "Betty" Marrazza. Born in Massachusetts on January 21, 1930, he was the son of the late Harry and Salanier (nee Bourque) Melanson. Patrick lived in Massachusetts until moving to New Jersey and eventually to Pennsylvania upon retirement in 1995. He worked for many years in Newark for Local 68 of the Operating Engineers. He was a veteran of the United States Navy having served from 1951 to 1956. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 903. In addition to his wife Betty, he is survived by a son: Patrick Melanson of North Brunswick, NJ; daughter: Maureen Depew of Minnesota; grandchildren: Jennifer Melanson of Maryland, Thomas Melanson of North Brunswick, NJ, Shannon Melanson of North Brunswick, NJ, Kerry Depew of Minnesota, Ryan Depew of Minnesota, and Coby Depew of Minnesota; brother Mark Melanson and wife Patricia of Franklin, Massachusetts; sisters: Rita Sparks and husband Harold of Falmouth, Massachusetts, Theresa Cavicchi and her friend Ernest Turke of Walpole, Massachusetts, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by brothers; Theodore Melanson, Roy Melanson, Thomas Melanson, Gerard Melanson and Clarence Melanson; sisters Doris Spiney and Irene Henken. A memorial service will take place Saturday, October 27, 2012 from 11:00 -12:00 pm with a service at 12:00 noon at Bolock Funeral Home & Crematory, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco, Pa. 18326 In Lieu of flowers memorial donations can be donated to the Salvation Army 226 Washington Street, East Stroudsburg, Pa. 18301
