Obituary of Diego Canovas

Diego Canovas (April 11, 1929 - January 14, 2013) Diego Canovas, 83, of Canadensis, died January 14, 2013 at his home. He was the loving husband of Paula (Zino) Canovas. They celebrated their 30th anniversary last July. Born in Newark, NJ, he was the son of the late Manuel and Josephine (Perez) Canovas. Diego was a longshoreman in Port Newark and Port Elizabeth for over 30 years. He was an avid pigeon flyer and fancier for most of his life. He also loved beagles and horses, and raised many throughout his years. In addition to his wife he is survived by five children: Jessica, Joseph, Joanne, Manny, Diego Jr., and wife Paddy; two granddaughters Jamie and Sarah; one great grandson: Michael; sister: Matilda Romano; guardian: Buddy There will be a viewing on Thursday, January 17 from 2-4 and 7-8:30 PM at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrate on Friday, January 18 at 10:00 AM, at St. Bernadette's Church, RT. 390, Canadensis, PA.
