Obituary of Michael Smith

Michael J. Smith (June 20, 1952 -February 9, 2013) Michael J. Smith, 60, of Pocono Lake, died February 9, 2013 at his home. Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late John A. Smith who passed away on April 10, 2012 and Zoe (Shafer) Smith. He was a lifelong resident of Pocono Lake. He loved working with cars and all kinds of small engines. Before his illness he worked for the Cinram Manufacturing Co. in Olyphant, PA. Michael loved his vegetable garden that he would plant every year. In addition to his mother, Zoe he is survived by a sister Hazel Fairservice and husband Robert of Tobyhanna, PA; Niece: Andrea Fairservice of Hatboro PA; nephew: Brian Fairservice Tobyhanna, Pa. Private burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Michael's name to the Hughes Cancer Center, 231 East Brown Street, East Stroudsburg, Pa. 18301.
