Obituary of Mary Jane Papa

Mary Jane Papa (January 28, 1929 - March 5, 2013) Mary Jane Papa, 84, of Pocono Pines, died Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at Hospice Community Care, Wilkes-Barre, PA. She was the loving wife of the late George Papa who died in 2011. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of Benedetto and Virginia (Beni) Bruno. Mary Jane was a former secretary for the NY City School Board of Education. She raised her family on Staten Island from 1957 to 1990. She was an artist who loved to paint and enjoyed cooking and taking care of her family. Mary Jane is survived by her one daughter: Linda Papa Young and her husband Chuck; four sons: Thomas Papa, William Papa and his wife Missy, John Papa and Ronald Papa and his wife Olga; one sister: Angela Nucito and her husband James. She has 14 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. There will be a viewing on Friday, March 8 from 6:00 - 8:30 PM at Bolock Funeral Home Crematory, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco, Pa. 18326. Reverend Father John Boyle will celebrate a Mass of Christian burial on Saturday, March 9 at 10:00 AM at St. Maximilian Kolbe, 5112 Pocono Crest Road, Pocono Pines, Pa. 18350. Burial will follow at St. Catherine's Cemetery, Main Street, Moscow, Pa. 18444.
