Obituary of Bartolo Russo

Bartolo "Ben" Russo, 78, of Tobyhanna, died Wednesday, December 22 at Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg. He was the husband of Grace (Tesoriero) Russo, to whom he was married for 55 years. Born in Panarea, Italy, he was the son of the late Bartolo and Margherita (Tesoriero) Russo. Ben served in the U.S. Navy and retired from the NYPD as a detective. He was a member of St. Ann's Church in Tobyhanna and of VFW Post 3448 B. Gregory Krummell Memorial Post in Tobyhanna. Ben spent 61 years of his life in Brooklyn, NY and moved to the Poconos in 1993. In addition to his wife Grace, Ben is survived by his son Bart Russo and his wife Janet of Woodland Park, NJ; two sisters: Margaret and Josephine and four grandchildren: Vincent and Christopher D'Errico and Rebecca and Lauren Russo; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Ben was preceded in death by his daughter: Margaret D'Errico and his brother: Vincent Russo. There will be a viewing on Monday, December 27 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm at the Bolock Funeral Home, corner of routes 940 & 390 in Cresco. Reverend Father Joseph Kopacz will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, December 28 at 10;30 am at the Church of St. Ann, Main St. Tobyhanna. Interment will follow at Prospect Cemetery.
