Obituary of Jason Hunt

Jason Garrett Hunt, labelled at birth as "twin B", was born July 15, 1967 at Maimonides Hospital in Brooklyn, NY. His brother Jonathon was labelled "twin A." Jason spent the first year and a half of his life in Brooklyn. He spent the next 16 years in the Bronx. Jason attended elementary school in Manhattan. Grades 1-5 were at the Riverside school and grades 6-12 were at the Anglo American School where he was an honor student and was awarded the governor's scholarship upon graduation. Jason attended Wesleyan College in Middletown, CT where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree. He continued his graduate education at Polytechnic Institute of New York University where he received a Master of Science degree. Jason held a number of positions in the business world. He worked for Chase bank, the City of New York, Morgan Stanley, IBM, United Guaranty, and the Public Relations Society of America where he found his passion in website design. He later became an independent consultant for Star Company. He was on the cutting edge of computer graphics technology and photography. Jason was a high achiever at an early age whether it was Boy Scouts, Little League or academics he always thrived for excellence. He exhibited leadership capacity in his first position as a summer camp counselor in the camp he had attended for 6 years. Early friendships he made at summer camp lasted up to the time of his death. Jason loved and participated in many sports basketball, golf, kayaking, track, cycling and martial arts and he was well traveled. Jason was an avid reader. Continuing his education he went to Digital Film Academy and took online courses which helped him develop his skills as a photographer. He was recognized as being a top notch photographer and won 1st place in several photo competitions. Many of Jason's qualities were industrious, steady, gentle, precise, caring, openhearted, principled and disciplined. He also had a great sense of humor. He manifested many qualities beneficial to himself, others at home, and in the workplace. He was generous in sharing his talents by serving as a role model while helping children. He was a volunteer fireman and became certified as a HAZMAT specialist. He was open to new ideas but he did his homework by researching before he reached a conclusion. He was brave, confident and compassionate and had a passion for whatever he set his mind to. He did not crumble in adversity but bravely stated end of life wishes even apologizing for not being able to complete his bucket list. Jason was a great son, brother, cousin, godson, and nephew. In the many messages to the family he has been remembered as a great person, friend and human. Jason is survived by his loving and dedicated parents, Audrey and Benjamin, his twin brother Jonathon, his sister Stephanie, his aunt Shirley Taylor, his cousin Anthony Selby, his godmother Geneva Butts extended family members Jean Gardner, Imogene Hooker, Norma Marshburn, Mildred Roach, Patricia Williams, and a host of other family members in New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, Mississippi, and Washington DC, and friends from all over the country.
