Obituary of Philip Jousse

Philip Jousse, 62, of Cresco, passed away June 15, 2013, at his home. He was the loving husband of Barbara (Palmieri) Jousse, to whom he was married for 37 years. Born in Paterson, N.J., Philip was the son of the late Andre and Marguerite (Belluardo) Jousse. Philip and his wife, Barbara, moved to the Poconos 25 years ago from New Jersey and loved the outdoors. During his working career, Philip worked as a tractor trailer driver for Marcal Paper and Pennywise Fuel. Although they had no children, his nieces and nephews filled that void and he loved them very much. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sisters: Joanne Devries and her husband, Roger, of Wayne, N.J.; and Marcelle O'Brien and her husband, Rich, of Cooperstown, N.Y.; his mother- and father-in-law, Samuel and Frances Palmieri of Ridgefield, N.J.; his sister-in-law, Mary Ann Quinlan of Ridgefield, N.J.; his brother-in-law, Ralph Palmieri and his wife, Gayle, of East Hanover, N.J.; his nieces: Jennifer Quinlan; Andrea Cisneros and her husband, Rob; Lauren Palmieri; Stephanie Palmieri; Dawn Emerson; Marcelle Denninger; Makayla Denninger; and Ivy Devries; and his nephews: Shawn Quinlan, Roger John Devries and his wife, Denise and Daniel Palmieri. There will be a viewing from 3 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. The Rev. Joseph Kopacz will conduct a Catholic prayer service at 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 2212 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018.
