Obituary of John Kurkowski

John H. Kurkowski, 57, of Canadensis, passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at his home. He was the loving husband of Gretchen (Zieve) Huntington. Born in Huntington, N.Y., John was the loving son of the late John and Mary (Besecker) Kurkowski. John was a chef all of his life, locally he worked at the Crescent Lodge for several years. He was the member of the Canadensis United Methodist Church. He is survived by his sons: John Kurkowski and his wife, Cindy, of Plainedge, N.Y.; Michael Kurkowski of Canadensis; his daughter: Danielle Kurkowski and fiance Dan Mochler, of Kings Park, N.Y.; one sister: Alina Hsu of MA; three grandchildren: Olivia Hancock, Sophia Kurkowski and Samantha Kurkowski. He was preceded in death by a son, William Kurkowski. There will be a viewing from 11-12 p.m. Saturday, June 29, at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. A funeral service will be conducted at 12 p.m. at the funeral home. Private cremation will follow at Bolock Funeral Home and Crematory.
