Obituary of Edward Johnson
Edward W. Johnson (Ted), 87, of Tobyhanna, died Thursday morning, June 27, 2013. He was the husband of Dolores L. (Williams) Johnson, with whom he celebrated 62 years of marriage.
Born on March 25, 1926, in Philadelphia, PA, he was the child of the late Andrew and Mildred (Young) Johnson. Ted served in the U.S. Air Force for twenty years. He served in the Korean War as a fighter pilot, receiving many achievements for outstanding performance including the Distinguished Flying Cross. After retiring from the Air Force he became a golf professional and a ski instructor. He enjoyed sailing, tennis, fishing, playing the piano and watching the Phillies.
In addition to his wife Dolores, he is survived by three children: Judy Zagrocki, of New Brighton; Andy Johnson, of Tobyhanna; Angela Parry and her husband Michael, of Allentown, PA.; five Grandchildren: Rachel Pommier, Jonathan Zagrocki, Brianna Johnson, Jocelyn and Drew Parry; and seven Great-Grandchildren: Olivia, Auriane, Angeline, Elody and Benjamin Pommier, Luke and Emma Zagrocki.
There will be no local services; however, a cremation memorialization will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, on July 5th at 1:30pm.
