Obituary of Virgil Richter

Virgil John Richter, age 87, died at Arden Courts in Pikesville, MD on Sunday July 21, 2013. Born September 5, 1925, in St. Cloud Minnesota, he lived in West Orange and Flemington, New Jersey, and Pocono Pines, Pennsylvania before moving to Arden Courts. He worked at Colgate Palmolive Company in Piscataway, New Jersey as a Chemist until retiring in 1987. Virgil enjoyed skiing, tennis and golf and was a long time member of the Knights of Columbus. Virgil is survived by his brother: Richard Richter of Hendersonville, North Carolina; his sister: Elaine Hoek of Oregon; his children: John Richter of The Villages, Florida; Frederick Richter of Bud Lake, New Jersey; Patricia Sipe of Mount Airy, Maryland; Marilyn Leary of Cologne, Germany and Lisa Walsh of Commack, New York; his grandchildren: Carolyn, Michael, Michele, and Laura, and his great-granddaughter: Fiona. A Viewing will be held at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 26, at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church in Pocono Pines, Pennsylvania with burial to follow in Pocono Lake Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church, 5112 Pocono Crest road, Pocono Pine, PA 18350.
