Obituary of John Jones

John H. Jones, of Mount Pocono, was called to the Lord on Thursday, August 1, 2013. He was the beloved husband of the late Helen Bernice Jones (nee Moylan). Born in Egg Harbor, NJ he was the son of the late Walter C. Jones, Sr. and Margaret (nee) Forster. A veteran of the United States Army, he served during WWII and the Korean War. John lived in Philadelphia for most of his life, he moved to the Pocono's in 2010. He was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church in Philadelphia, the United Steelworkers and Teamsters Union. He was a devoted father of two sons: Glenn L. Jones and Joseph B. Jones of Mount Pocono; a daughter: Jacquelyn A. Jones of Philadelphia; brothers: John Cruz, Edward Cruz; sister: Marie Cruz; three grandchildren: Janine Y. Ferrentino (nee Jones), Leif J. Jones, Samantha E. Jones; three great grandchildren: Kaelyn, Quinn and Lleyton Jones. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by: three brothers: Walter Jones, Jr., James Cruz and twin brother, Edward Jones. The Reverend father Joseph Kopacz will celebrate a Mass of Christian burial on Wednesday, August 7th at 10:00am at St. Mary of the Mount Church, 27 Fairview Avenue, Mount Pocono. Funeral and interment are private. Memorials in John's memory can be made to the American Diabetes Association, the Humane Society of the United States or to a charity of the Donor's choice.
