Obituary of Janeann O'Boyle

Janeann R. O'Boyle, 74 of Pocono Summit, died peacefully on August 13, 2013 surrounded by loving family and friends during her brief stay at Lehigh Valley Hospice. She was the beloved wife of Bill "OB" O'Boyle to whom she was married for 54 years. Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Rita(Doherty)Nealon. Loving mother and nana, she raised her five children in the Pocono's. She was an active member of St. Mary of the Mount Church and was a very committed volunteer at Pocono Central Catholic High School and for Meals on Wheels. She co-owned and operated the Golden Apple Gift Shop for nine years during the 1980's, while her husband managed the Hershey Corpus Christi Hotel. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her four children: Mary Jo Weston and her husband, Michael of Sault Ste. Marie, MI; Jeanne Riley and her husband, Phillip of Cresco; Patrick O'Boyle and his wife, Teresa of Corpus Christi, TX; Ed O'Boyle and his fiance, Ms. Billie Carberry of Newark, DE; brother: Joseph Nealon of Scranton; a sister: Marita McGoff and her husband, Bob of Scranton; six grandchildren: Monica Hermes; Rachel Riley; Miles Riley; Brianna O'Boyle; Kasey Weston and Allison O'Boyle. She was preceded in death by a son, Timothy O'Boyle and two grandchildren, Timmy and Tami O'Boyle. There will be a viewing on Thursday, August 15, from 2-4 and 7-8:30 p.m. at the Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. The Reverend Father Joseph Kopacz will celebrate a Mass of Christian burial on Friday, August 16, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary of the Mount Church, 27 Fairview Ave, Mount Pocono. Burial will follow at Laurelwood Cemetery in Stroudsburg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Donor Services P.O. Box 4072 Pittsfield, MA 01202
