Obituary of Dolores Williams
Dolores E. Williams, 79, of Cresco, died on Monday, August 12, 2013 at Good Shepherd Specialty Hospital in Bethlehem.
Dolores was born on April 3, 1954 and grew up in Donaldson, PA, she was the daughter of the late Luther and Ellen (Clemens) Reinoehl. Dolores was received into the Holy Christian Church through the Sacrament of Holy Baptism at Zion Lutheran Church in Donaldson on April 28, 1934. She was married to the late Richard B. Williams on May 22, 1954 at Zion. She attended Frailey Township School and graduated from Tremont High School in 1952.
Dolores was an active member of the Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Mount Pocono since 1968, where she was also the financial secretary, greeter and sunshine secretary for the Dorcas Society. Dolores was also an active member of the community and contributed regularly to charities including, the Lutheran Hours Ministries, the Lutheran Indian Ministries, the Wheat Ridge Ministries, the Wounded Warrior Project and the Humane Society. Before retiring, she worked for the Carbon-Monroe-Pike Drug and Alcohol Commission.
Dolores had a special love for spending time with family and friends, traveling, butterflies, taking photographs, Alan Jackson and Lemon Meringue Pie.
She is survived by: three sons: David Williams and his wife Debra of Palmyra, Mark Williams of Cresco, Steven Williams and his wife Jacquelyn of Wind Gap; a brother: Luther Reinoehl of Stevens; three grandchildren: Justin, Jennifer, Elizabeth and two great grandchildren: Lillee and Claire.
There will be a viewing on Friday, August 16 from 5-8pm at the Lutheran Church of Our Savior, 675 Belmont Avenue, Mount Pocono. There will be a second viewing on Saturday, August 17 from 10-11am with services following at 11am the church. Burial will follow at Keokee Chapel Cemetery, Keokee Chapel Road, Paradise Valley.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in honor of Dolores may be made to the Lutheran Church of Our Savior.
