Obituary of Linda Bernardin

Linda Ann Bernardin Linda Ann Bernardin, 70, of Pocono Pines, died on Friday August 16th, in the loving presence of her husband George E. Bernardin. They shared 48 years of marriage together. She was born in Queens, NY on August 9, 1943, to Henry and Pauline (Ernst) Streit. Linda graduated from Richmond Hill High School in 1961. She married her high school sweetheart, George Bernardin on October 24, 1964 at St Paul's Lutheran Church in Richmond Hill. She was an executive secretary at Jamaica Savings Bank. Linda then became a full time mother and eventually grandmother. She adored her grandchildren and loved cooking, sewing, gardening, walking, tennis and bicycling. Linda was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Blakeslee. In addition to her husband George she is survived by two daughters: Nancy Bebel and her husband Peter of Westfield, NJ, Karen Timberlake and her husband Matthew of Cranford, NJ and Pocono Pines. five grandchildren: Eric, Ryan, Harrison, Christian and Abigail; a sister Diane Streit of Hampton Bays, NY; and a brother: James Streit and his wife Vicki of Seattle, WA. Linda and George Lived for 3 years in Jamaica NY, 20 years in Oceanside, NY and 10 years in Warren NJ before retiring to their Summer home in Lake Naomi, in 1998. The last three years Linda resided at Oakwood terrace in Moosic, Pa before transferring August 1st to Linwood Nursing facility in Scranton. A celebration of life memorial service will be held Saturday August 24, at 11:00am at Faith Lutheran Church, Route 940 Blakeslee. A visitation with the family will be from 10am until the time of service at the church.
