Obituary of Patricia Geddes

Patricia A. Geddes, 72, of Swiftwater, died on Monday, September 30th, at Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg. She was the wife of Robert Geddes, to whom she had been married for 52 years. Born in Newark, NJ she was the daughter of the late Richard and Patricia (Shanley) Carswell. Patricia raised her family and worked at the 5 Points YMCA and Darrow's Scout Fitters in Union, NJ. She served as a Girl Scout Leader for over 20 years and was awarded the Prestigious Emerald Award. Patricia and her husband retired to the Poconos 15 years ago. In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughters: Lisa Geddes and her husband Steve of Hanover, MD; Melinda Geddes of Hillsborough, NJ and Christina Brea and her husband, John of Hillsborough, NJ; a brother: Richard Carswell of Oxnard, CA; sisters: Judith Bevere of Bloomfield, NJ and Diane O'Connor of Forked River, NJ; granddaughter: Victoria Brea of Hillsborough, NJ. Patricia was preceded in death by her brother Robert Carswell. The Reverend Father Joseph Kopacz will conduct a blessing service on Friday, October 4th at 1:00 p.m. at the Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. There will be a visitation from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Cremation has been entrusted to the Bolock Funeral Home Crematory.
