Obituary of Richard Orlowsky

Richard W. Orlowsky, 64, of Mountainhome, died Friday, March 11 at St. Luke's Hospital in Bethlehem after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the husband of Dianne Gasiewski-Orlowsky. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of Virginia (Palagonia) Orlowsky of Mountainhome and the late Fred Orlowsky. Richard attained his Bachelor of Science degree and prior to retiring, was a consultant in the banking industry. He lived in California for six years and has been in Mountainhome for 22 years, where he enjoyed golfing, listening to Doo Wop, fly fishing at Skytop and was an avid outdoorsman. Richard was a life-long New York Giants fan. He was a member of the Barley Creek Mug Club and served in the National Guard. In addition to his wife, Dianne and mother, Virginia, Richard is survived by his two stepsons: Tom and Tim Gasiewski of Tobyhanna; his daughter: Alexandra Waale, her husband George and her half brother John Kulghe, all of CA; his step-daughter: Kristen Gasiewski of CA; his three grandchildren: Thomas, Griffin and Gracie; aunts & uncles: Ben & Barbara Palagonia of CT, Anthony Palagonia of CT and Margarita Tucholski of NJ and several cousins. Reverend Father Joseph Kopacz will conduct a Memorial Service on Saturday, March 19 at 2:30 pm at the Bolock Funeral Home, route 940 in Cresco. There will be a visitation from 1:00 pm until the time of service at the funeral home. Private cremation was entrusted to the Bolock Funeral Home Crematory.
